Miner's Castle - A Northern Michigan icon
Sophia - Inspired in Maine
Dancing Buoys - A study in texture, light & shadow. Inspired from a trip to Maine a few years ago. The challenge was to create many different textures and shadows with just transparent watercolor on paper.
Inspiration comes from everywhere. Over the years, I’ve photographed objects that instigate a memory, or spark an idea.
The Teacher - The inspiration behind this watercolor was the subject - my junior high school art teacher. Through his motivation, he pushed me to explore all mediums and work to improve daily. Painting him was my way of saying thank you.
Dad - Inspiration taken from a photograph taken at a family party. I loved the expressions captured along with the American flag in the background, and how it embodied Dad.
Young Thoughts - My granddaughter in a moment of deep thought in her play fort.
Violet - Portrait captured at age 2
Chief Pamptoke - A commissioned piece brought to life from a black and white photo and research.
The lines in our faces tell a story. Portraits can be a welcome challenge and tell a story.

Proud Casey - A commissioned piece of pet considered family.

Swimming Beauty - A majestic sea turtle in Maui.

Ken's Four Dogs - A comissioned piece to bring all four dogs together, including the two who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
